New businesses trickle in

The Tribune always tries to do a story when a new business moves into the area. Since Fall 2008, those stories have becoming scarce in our paper, likely because the obvious economic reasons have kept many potential business owners at bay.

But, just as spring has sprung, so too has many new businesses in the North Buncombe area. There's the big names like the Neighborhood YMCA in Woodfin and the soon-to-be-opening Lowe's and Wal-Mart in Weaverville.

But, there are other smaller businesses such as Main Street Flooring and Renovation and Pistil and Stamen in Weaverville now open. In Woodfin, stylist Glenda Kay has returned to the area to open a new shop that will be featured in next week's edition. It seems some business owners are again taking the leap back into the market.
