* January 2009 sales at the town's ABC store totaled more than $167,000, an 104 percent increase over $82,000 worth of sales in January 2008.
* A portion of ABC profits must be devoted to supporting alcohol educational and rehabilitation programs, per state mandates. The Woodfin ABC Board will select several programs in the near future.
* The town is tired of trash cans on the street. The town has sent out 300-400 letters to residences with trash cans perpetually on the street. Young said the town is within its rights to collect the cans off the street and regard them as trash if they are not promptly removed.

You would think Woodfin would have better things to worry about then where people are keeping there empty trash cans well I mean they are still counting all there money from Reynolds Mtn and YMCA and the mile high ABC store that they want everyone to see from Asheville to Weaverville, maybe one of there high class million doller citizens on top of Reynolds Mtn looked down and complained,Woodfin never misses a chance to get there name in the paper anyways,Woodfin needs to clean up its on yard before they tell me too, they need to start with that disfuntional police department if they can pry there officers out of Nicks sandwich shop on merrimon ave everynight they may start to get little done
I know this post is old but I would like to start off by saying Woodfin Police Dept is one of the finest departments in Western North Carolina. Maverick is going off on tangents because he/she was reprimanded for violating a town ordinance. Towns have those for a reason. Woodfin is trying to "clean up its yard" by getting incompetent citizens like Maverick to clean up his trash cans. If he/she cannot complete a simple task like taking care of his/her trash cans once a week it makes me wonder what else he/she cant do. Plus Nicks is a good place to eat!
