What's the verdict?

The Fourth of July celebration this year in Weaverville was held at Lake Louise Park instead of downtown. For those who've attended the celebration at both sites, which venue do you prefer? We were enormously impressed with the Fourth of July celebration put on by Weaverville. The lake front is a much more sensible location than down town and it enabled families to have more comfortable surroundings with places for picnics/blankets and children's play areas. It seemed like a safer surrounding with greater room to spread out and yet there were accommodations for people to eat at the community center and be protected from rain showers rather than just sitting on the street curbs with umbrellas. The vendors were well arranged and easily accessible. In addition, what with the drought conditions, having the lake area for the fireworks to sail over seemed to be safer than rooftops and they were beautiful reflected in Lake Louise. We would vote on the lake area as a permanent spot for family Fourth of July celebrations and fireworks. Thanks to whomever it was who selected such a wonderful setting and sensible arrangements for getting to and from!

tchr,
Thanks for your feedback. There was a nostaglia sentiment associated with the downtown setting, but Lake Louise certainly has more space to spread out.
